Andrew “Pete” Louis Ward, 88, passed away on September 25, 2025 at his home in Coldwater, Mississippi. He was born on July 19, 1937 in Little Texas, Mississippi and was a Retired Major with 37 years service to his country as a member of the United States Marines. After retirement he worked as the Administrator of the Shelby County Tennessee Corrections Center.

Visitation will be from 12 pm until a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 1 pm on Wednesday - October 1, 2025 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home - 2470 Hwy 51 S - Hernando, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Goodrum Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Andy Ward Jr. and his wife Joan of Eudora, Mississippi, his brother, Mackey Ward and his wife, Diane and his (4) sisters, Joanne Hardin, Virginia Curry and her husband, Richard, Dorothy Burkes and Teressa Embry. He also leaves behind (5) grandchildren, Terra, Clint, Zack, Christen and Phoenix and (7) great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessie Ward, his son, Randy Ward, his two (2) sisters, Louise Owens and Barbara Hoffine, and his (3) brothers, Charles Ward, Earl Ward and Richard Ward.
