Anna Ruth Kelly, 97, cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2026, at the Senatobia Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Senatobia, MS. Born on June 25, 1928, in Potts Camp, Mississippi, Ruth led a life filled with devotion to her family and community.
For over 40 years, Ruth worked as an inspector for General Electric on Riverside Drive in Memphis, Tennessee. She dedicated her professional life with diligence and pride, contributing significantly to her workplace and the lives of her coworkers.
Beyond her career, Ruth was a beloved member of her church community, playing the piano at Gray's Creek Baptist Church for more than four decades. Her musical talents not only enriched the worship experiences but also touched the hearts of many in her congregation.
Ruth's love for flowers was well-known, as she found beauty and comfort in their presence. This not only reflected her gentle spirit but also demonstrated her connection to the world around her.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter, Terry Kelly of Hernando, Mississippi, and her son, Tim Kelly and his wife Penny, also of Hernando. Ruth was a proud grandmother to Justin, Zack, and Ashton, and a delighted great-grandmother to Tinley and Caroline. Her brothers, John Gullett of Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi, Donnie Gullett of Pontotoc, Mississippi and Doyle Gullett of Springfield, Kentucky, will also mourn her passing.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Pat Kelly, her daughter, Jan Kelly House, and her son, Danny Kelly. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Clara Work.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home located at 2470 Highway 51 South in Hernando, Mississippi.
Her funeral service will be officiated by Bro. David Johns of Mt. Manna Baptist Church, formally of Gray's Creek Baptist Church.
In her passing, Ruth Kelly leaves a legacy of love, music, and steadfast dedication to family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
