Barbara Ann Leggett Harwell

Barbara Ann Leggett Harwell, age 75, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 7, 1950, in Laurel, Mississippi, Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others, serving as a Medical Insurance Specialist for several hospitals throughout her career, including Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Her kindness, integrity, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara will be remembered not only for her career in service but also for the deep love she had for her family, her warm heart, and her quiet strength.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George Harwell; her son, Philip Harwell, and his wife Dana, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; her sister, Jane Marilyn Leggett; and her brother, Donald Mitchell Leggett and his wife Judy. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all enriched by her presence.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Lamar and Emma Lavera Leggett; her sister, Joan Leggett; and her brother, Steve Leggett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Jones & Son Funeral Home, 18 Moselle-Seminary Road, Moselle, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Soules Chapel Cemetery, 579 Rainey Road, Moselle, Mississippi.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 4423 Woodgate Lane, Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Barbara’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
