Bobby Noel Buchanan Sr.

Bobby Noel Buchanan Sr., a dedicated truck driver and passionate outdoorsman, passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on February 28, 1942, in Aberdeen, Mississippi, Bobby lived a life marked by hard work and a deep love for nature.

For many years, Bobby contributed to the trucking industry as a valued employee at Humboldt Trucking in Memphis, Tennessee. His commitment to the job was unwavering, and he fostered lasting relationships with colleagues who admired his work ethic and character.

In addition to his career, Bobby was known for his prowess as a pro bass fisherman, in which he excelled and won numerous tournaments. His love for fishing was only rivaled by his enthusiasm for hunting, activities that allowed him to bond with friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors.

Bobby leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his legacy. He is survived by his daughter, Becky Buchanan Jackson of Tate County, MS; his son, Noel Buchanan and wife Susan, also of Tate County, MS; and his son, Timothy Buchanan (Sima Kamkar) of Hernando, MS. His brothers, Joel and Mikel Buchanan. His grandchildren, including Bobby Buchanan III, Molly Massey (Nathan), Abigail Marian Still (Justin), Artis Jackson Jr. (Erin), Bubba Brewer, and Gabby Brewer, were a source of immense joy for him. Moreover, he cherished his great-grandchildren: Atleigh Still, Artis Jackson III, Wyatt Massey, Haleigh Massey, Levi Massey, and Khloe Hutto.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julia Mae Buchanan, his parents, Edward and Evelyn Buchanan and his brother Billy Buchanan.

The family is planning a celebration of life memorial service at a later date to honor and remember Bobby's remarkable journey and the many lives he touched. His spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, forever a guiding light and a source of fond memories.
