Carl Randolph Sullivan Sr., 73, lovingly known as Randy, passed away on September 15, 2026, at his home in Greenleaf. He was born on September 4, 1953, in Hernando, Mississippi, and will be remembered as a man of deep kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family and community.
Randy was a retired truck driver who spent his working years with various companies, including Milan Express Distribution in Memphis, Tennessee. He was also a dedicated volunteer with the Greenleaf Fire Department for more than 20 years of service, a commitment that reflected his servant’s heart and his desire to help others. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and those who knew him knew his heart was truly made of gold.
He loved hunting, fishing, and anything that kept him outdoors. He had a special fondness for all things camo, and he found joy in the simple pleasures of country life. Randy was also known for his willingness to help anyone around him. If someone needed their grass cut, he was there. His care for others showed not only in big acts of service, but also in the everyday ways he made life easier and brighter for the people around him.
More than anything, Randy treasured his family. He loved to play with and aggravate his grandchildren, all of whom knew him proudly as Papa. He was loved by all the kids in the community, who were drawn to his playful nature and warm heart. His granddaughter Rylee held a particularly special place in his daily life as his sidekick, and he faithfully took her to school and picked her up every day. These ordinary moments became some of the most meaningful expressions of his love.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Glenda Sullivan; his mother, Nellie Sullivan; his daughter, Brittany Crawford-Garner and her husband, John; and his son, Carl Sullivan Jr. and his wife, Reana. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Sue Ann, Kailynn, Caroline, James, Rylee, and Randi Kay, as well as his great-granddaughter, Ophelia. Each of them carries forward memories of his laughter, his teasing ways, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Sullivan, and his sister, Sandra K. Sullivan.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Greenleaf Methodist Church, 3004 Greenleaf Rd, Coldwater, Mississippi 38618. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Greenleaf Cemetery, 3005 Greenleaf Rd, Coldwater, Mississippi 38618.
Randy leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
