Christine Jeanette Bishop Kogler

Christine Jeanette Bishop Kogler, lovingly known as Chris, was born on December 11, 1941, in Randolph, Mississippi. She passed away on September 5, 2026, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.

Chris will be remembered for the warmth she brought to those around her and for the simple joys that helped shape her life. She spent most of her career as an entrepreneur, driven by her independent spirit and dedicated work ethic. Outside of her work, she loved playing cards, enjoyed watching hummingbirds, and loved traveling.

Family was an important part of Chris’s life, and she leaves behind many who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her son, Jim Kogler, and his wife, Shelia, of Red Banks, Mississippi; her daughter, Robin Kogler, of Carichi, Mexico; her brother, J.R. Bishop and his wife, Dereida, of Olathe, Kansas; her sister, Laura Birmingham and her husband Maurice of Arkabutla, Mississippi; and her sister, Tammy Bishop Zuccarell of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joaquin, Andy, Natalia, and Kristen; her loving companion and dear friend, Edward G. Patterson, whose presence was a meaningful part of her life; her aunt, Sara Griggs; and her cousin and best friend, Carolyn Hall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kogler; her father, J.W. Bishop; her mother, Rosetta Bishop; and her granddaughter, Caitlyn Lambert. Their memories remained part of her life and are now joined with hers in the hearts of those who loved them all.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, Mississippi 38632. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Goodrum Memorial Cemetery, 9960 MS-304, Hernando, Mississippi 38632.

Chris will be remembered with love for her caring spirit, her enjoyment of life’s everyday pleasures, and the lasting bonds she shared with family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
