Nesbit, MS

Dean Belton Murrah, 71, a devoted family man and skilled CNC Machinist, passed away on April 27, 2026, at his home in Nesbit, Mississippi. Born on December 17, 1954, in Jackson, Tennessee, Dean lived a life marked by his love for family, a passion for music, dedication to his craft and the land he so carefully tended.

A 1972 graduate of Southaven High School, Dean’s journey was shaped by a strong work ethic and deep-rooted values. Throughout his career as a CNC Machinist, he demonstrated precision and expertise, qualities reflected in every aspect of his life. Yet, it was his role as a husband, father, and grandfather where he found his greatest joy.

Dean’s personality was defined by his genuine delight in the closeness of his family, who lived near one another and shared many cherished moments together. He took immense pleasure in working on his tractor and caring for his land, finding peace and purpose in these simple yet meaningful tasks. Music was another beloved part of Dean’s life; he played both the drums and piano, enriching his family’s lives with his talent and passion.

A man of faith, Dean loved the Lord deeply, and his family finds comfort knowing he is now healed and whole in that eternal embrace. His proudest accomplishments were rooted in his unwavering devotion to his faith and his family.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla Murrah, and their daughters, Cory Roberts and her husband Joshua Roberts, and Melanie Williamson and her husband Luke Williamson. His grandchildren—Abby Williamson, John David Williamson, Emy Roberts, and Ellie Roberts—cherished him affectionately as “Pap” and carry forward his legacy of love and warmth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances Murrah, and his sister, DeAnna Smith.

The family will hold a visitation only from 10:30 until 12:30 on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Crossroads Church located at 2495 Getwell Road in Nesbit to honor Dean’s memory and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. The family will lay him to rest privately at a later date. Though he is deeply missed, Dean Belton Murrah leaves behind a heritage of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to share in his life.
