Diego Flores Huerta, 19, born on January 18, 2007, in Southaven, Mississippi, passed away tragically on April 14, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi, following a devastating car accident. Diego's untimely departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A graduate of Hernando High School's Class of 2025, Diego's academic journey continued as he pursued civil engineering at Northwest Mississippi Community College. His commitment to his education reflected his determination and bright future that was so unfortunately cut short.
Diego dedicated his professional life to Plant Maintenance at Milwaukee Tools, where he brought his strong work ethic and technical skill to every task. Beyond his career, Diego was a young man with a vibrant personality who treasured spending time with family and friends. His love for sports was boundless, especially for the LSU Tigers and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed activities such as going to the gym, hunting, fishing, and playing video games, all of which he embraced wholeheartedly.
One of Diego’s fondest memories was the joy he found in throwing the frisbee with his little sister Kendra, moments filled with laughter and sibling camaraderie that truly highlighted his loving nature. His passion extended to active, outdoor pursuits that mirrored his energetic spirit and enthusiasm for life.
Diego is survived by his devoted parents, Osbaldo Flores and Gabriela Huerta; his beloved siblings, Luis Flores Huerta and Kendra Flores Huerta; and a loving extended family including his aunts Cruz Huerta and Lurdes Huerta; uncles Adan Flores and Mario Vera; and cousins Adan Flores, Alejandro Flores, Stephenie Vera, and Arturo Vera. Additionally, close family friends Bobby and Wanda Lambert, Keith and Amy Williams, Murry and Sandra Spain, Barry W. Bridgforth and Lucie Bridgforth also share in this profound grief.
A visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, located at 2470 Hwy 51 S in Hernando, Mississippi. These services offer an opportunity for all who were touched by Diego’s life to gather, remember, and honor a young man who brought light and love into their lives.
Diego’s life, though brief, was marked by a genuine warmth and a spirited engagement with the world around him. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy endures in the hearts of his family and the many friends who cherished his company. May he rest in peace.
