Donald Ray Warner, 65, affectionately known as Don, passed away on April 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy characterized by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for life. Born on July 1, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, Don's journey was marked by service, both to his country and to those who knew him, as well as by a passion for the simple joys that enriched his days.
Don was a proud alumnus of Hernando High School, where his foundation was laid for a life of discipline and commitment. Following his education, he served honorably in the United States Air Force, as a Wideband Communications Equipment Specialist and Technical Training Instructor. He was awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award as well as the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. His time in the military not only reflected his technical expertise but also embodied his unwavering sense of duty and service.
In his professional career, Don devoted himself to his role as a Project Manager at WSI Inc., where his leadership and dedication were recognized and respected by colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his work, Don was a man of varied interests and hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. He had a particular fondness for all things John Deere, a love for Donald Duck, and found great pleasure in watching classic western movies. Recreationally, he cherished fishing and boating on the lake, activities that connected him closely to nature and tranquility.
Don’s family and friends were central to his life. He is survived by his daughter, Karla Arnold and her husband Matthew and their children, Jude, Lucy and Nora Kate; daughter, Kellea Sims and her husband Jake and their children, Benjamin, Wyatt, Levi; Son, William Warner and his wife Sarah and their children, Ollie and Theo; daughter Lisa Rieger and her husband Mike and their children Max and Leo; and daughter Julie Davenport and her husband Drew and their children Kolby, Derek, Logan, Emmaline, and Jackson. Don’s siblings—Rose Gonales, Karen Isbell, Mark Warner, and Linda Sosebee—also survive him, as do Marie Finney, who had a special place as his fiancé, and Melanie Warner, mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Chellie Warner, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
A Mass in celebration of Don’s life will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 545 E Commerce St, Hernando, Mississippi, on May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, at a later date
Donald Ray Warner’s life was one of steadfast service, genuine kindness, and cherished relationships. His memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew him and loved him. May he rest in peace.
