Donna Kay Harper, 74, passed away on September 11, 2026, at her home in Hernando, Mississippi. Born on August 18, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, Donna will be remembered as a woman of warmth, intelligence, and quiet devotion to the people and pursuits she loved.
Donna graduated from Horn Lake High School and went on to earn her Associate Degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College. She built a life marked by service and connection, working as a real estate agent and later as a substitute teacher for Hernando High School and Hernando Middle School. She especially enjoyed her time in the schools and cherished the children she met there, finding great meaning in being a substitute teacher.
Outside of her work, Donna found happiness in simple and lasting pleasures. She loved to garden and work in the yard, taking joy in caring for the spaces around her. She also loved good literature, and that love reflected her thoughtful spirit and appreciation for the richness of life.
Above all, Donna treasured her family. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Force, and Pamela’s husband, Joe, of Hernando, Mississippi; her son, John Harper of Centerville, Tennessee; her sister, Gina Kestler; and her beloved grandchildren, Peyton Force and Anna Force. The love she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of their lives, and her memory will continue to be carried forward in the hearts of those who knew her best.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Jimmie Logan; her brother, Bubba Logan; and her sister, Terri Trest. Their memories, together with Donna’s, remain deeply cherished by her family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home.
Donna Kay Harper will be remembered for her caring nature, her love of learning, and the kindness she shared with family, students, and friends. Her life touched many, and her memory will be held close with love.
