Dorothy Ann Campbell, 81,  affectionately known as Ann, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born Dorothy Ann Mayfield on February 24, 1945, in Jackson, Mississippi, she lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and professional excellence.

Ann’s early years were spent in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated from Whitehaven High School. Pursuing her passion for dental health, she earned an associate degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Tennessee Dental School. Her career was distinguished by her commitment to the well-being of others, as she served with great skill and compassion as a dental hygienist for Dr. C.L. Rains and Dr. Kalmowicz, both in Memphis. Her contributions to dental care were a testament to her professionalism and kindness.

Family was central to Ann’s life. She shared nearly 50 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Charles W. Campbell, who preceded her in death. She was the cherished daughter of Bennie E. Mayfield Jr. and Ella Pearl Mayfield, and sister to Bennie E. Mayfield III and Donna K. Hargis, all of whom have passed away. Ann leaves behind her devoted daughter, Jenifer A. Campbell Jones of Memphis, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Mayfield of Nashville, Tennessee, and sister-in-law, Diane Deming of Lakeland, Florida.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Allison Elder and her husband Andrew, and Erin Elizabeth Jones, who brought joy and pride to her life. Ann was also a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, each holding fond memories of her generosity and gentle spirit.

In respect to Ann’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Her family and friends will carry forward the warmth, love, and dedication that defined her remarkable life. Dorothy Ann Campbell’s memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew her.
