In Loving Memory of Eric John Hammond November 7, 1967 – June 17, 2026
Eric John Hammond born November 7, 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gained his wings leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, devotion, and unwavering love for his family. He was the beloved son of the late John Francis Hammond Jr. and Shirley Joanne Hammond.
Eric was, above all, a family man—strong-willed, fierce, and deeply committed to those he loved.
He was a proud and loving father to Zachery Alexander Hammond and Erica Jane Hammond Knight of Southaven, Mississippi. His greatest joy extended into the next generation as a cherished grandfather to Nohvella Marie Desich Hammond, Zayden Alexander Hammond, Waylon Lee Hammond, Elizabeth Jane Knight, Grayson Levi Knight, Jaxton Sawyer Knight, Willow Nevaeh Knight Magee and Briella Grace Knight.
Eric's brother, John Francis Hammond III, and his three sisters: Sandra D. Hammond Nozari, Cheryl D. Porter, and Sharon D. Payne. He held close the bonds of family, valuing connection, loyalty, and shared history.
A strong, hardworking and dedicated provider, Eric built a career in the grocery industry, serving as a Dairy Manager for Seesel’s and Schnuck's Grocery Stores. He loved working with local Police Departments doing surveillance for Hollywood Casino, Marshall's, Kmart and other major department stores. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability and work ethic. He did many community outreach projects for non profits and corporations . Beyond his profession, Eric had an entrepreneurial spirit—he loved wholesaling and setting up at local markets, where his personality and sharp wit naturally drew people in.
Eric was an avid outdoorsman/fisherman,finding peace and clarity on the water. He was also a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loyal through every season. Eric loved spending his relax time watching his favorite movies, playing baseball outside with his grandchildren, listening to his favorite country music and playing his favorite card game Uno with his children & grandchildren.
