Gerald’s professional career was distinguished by his work at Smith and Nephew Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee, where he applied his expertise as a tool and die maker. His contributions to the company reflected his meticulous craftsmanship and steadfast commitment that earned him respect among his colleagues.

He proudly served his country for six years in the National Guard, exemplifying a deep sense of duty and patriotism. Gerald was a man who loved his country profoundly, a sentiment that guided many aspects of his life.

Beyond his professional and military service, Gerald was known for his varied interests and generous spirit. He had a passion for bass fishing and an avid collector’s enthusiasm for knives—hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation. He deeply loved animals and found happiness in helping others, qualities that endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Gerald’s family was central to his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Manuel, who stood by his side as a devoted partner. Their daughter, Ashley Manuel Johnson, and her husband Darrell of Southaven, Mississippi, carry forward his legacy, along with their son Dylan, his beloved grandson. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Tommie Manuel, and his sister, Sarah Foster.

At this time, a celebration of life memorial service is not scheduled. Though we will miss Gerald’s steady presence, his memory lives on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Gerald Lynn Manuel’s life was one of service, love, and quiet strength—a legacy reflecting a man who treasured his family, country, and the simple joys that enriched his days.
