Hazel Florinda Braddie, 63, known affectionately by family and friends as Florinda, passed away on June 19, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on November 21, 1962, in Florence, Alabama, Hazel lived a life dedicated to the people she loved and cherished most.
Hazel was the beloved daughter of Dollie Gray, who survives her, and the late William “Bill” Gray Jr. She is also survived by her brother Billy Gray and his wife Valentina, and her Uncle, Larry Foust. She is also survived by her significant other, Victor Hubanks "Pee Wee" as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hazel’s family circle included her late Husband, Theodore Braddie, who shared in her journey through life, as well as her siblings Kim Underwood and Belinda Williams, who have also preceded her in passing. She was a caring aunt to Nicola Gray, who is remembered in loving memory.
Hazel’s presence was a constant source of warmth and comfort for her family and friends. Her personality was defined by an enduring commitment to those she held dear. She cherished the bonds within her family, never letting a day go by without calling to check in or just to say hello. These simple yet profound gestures became her proudest accomplishments, creating treasured memories for all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Hazel celebrated the relationships she built with open-hearted sincerity, nurturing lasting connections that extended across generations. Her kindness and thoughtfulness will be dearly missed, and the legacy of her love lives on in the hearts of those who survive her.
