Helen Louise Simpson

Helen Louise Simpson, 80, born on October 8, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away at her home in Hernando, Mississippi, on April 12, 2026. 

Helen graduated from Horn Lake High School and went on to build a meaningful career in the makeup departments of prominent retail establishments, including Dillard's and JC Penney. Her attentive nature and artistic skill not only enhanced the beauty of those she served but also enriched the lives of her colleagues and customers alike.

Throughout her life, Helen was surrounded by loved ones who held her in the highest regard. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Aldridge of Hernando, Mississippi, and her son, Carnell Aldridge, who resides in Mandarin, Florida. Helen’s legacy lives on through her 2 granddaughters, December Aldridge, and her husband, Robert, and Jamie Aldridge, as well as through her great-grandchildren, Jayden Aldridge and Jr. Mitambo, and her great-great-grandchildren, Ava and Miles. The family also cherished her beloved parrot, Jessie, who brought joy and companionship to her days.

She was predeceased by Melvin Aldridge, her husband and father of her children; James Simpson, her later husband; her parents, David and Troy Smith; her son, Wendell Aldridge; and her siblings Alene Kinsey, Catherine McElroy, Betty Martin, and Hubert Smith. Each of these family members left an indelible mark on Helen’s life and are remembered with love and respect.

The community is invited to honor Helen’s memory through visitation and funeral services to be held at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, located at 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, Mississippi 38632. The visitation will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service from 1:00 PM.

Helen Louise Simpson’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who were privileged to know her. Her spirit, generosity, and gentleness leave a lasting imprint on all who crossed her path.
