Jeffrey Lee Griffis

Jeffrey Lee Griffis, born on May 12, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on October 14, 2026, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.

Jeffrey was a graduate of South Panola High School in Batesville, Mississippi. He will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who held him close throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Griffis; his mother, Martha Wesley Griffis; his grandparents, Winford and Clyde Griffis and Charles and Margaret Wesley; his sisters, Jeannette Griffis and Janice Griffis Smith; and his nephew, Patrick Griffis.

Jeffrey’s memory will be cherished by his nieces, Jessica Hammond and Casey Manuel; his nephews, Andrew Smith and Alan Smith; and his cousin, Wilfred Ashby. He is also remembered with love by his step-children, Chris and Shelby, and by Carolyn Hickman and her family, who were part of his extended family. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at his family’s church, Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, Mississippi.
