Jerry Wayne Oglesby, 56, born on April 21, 1970, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on June 1, 2026. He lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and generosity. Jerry was a proud graduate of Byhalia High School’s class of 1988, and his journey through life was one defined by hard work, care for others, and a steadfast spirit.

Jerry devoted much of his professional life to the construction industry as a self-employed contractor. His craftsmanship and commitment to quality were evident in every project he undertook. Beyond his work, he had a passion for body work and working on cars, pursuits that combined his technical skill and love for mechanical detail. An avid football fan, Jerry found joy and camaraderie in the sport, sharing his enthusiasm with those around him.

Those who knew Jerry describe him as caring, dependable, and generous, with a kind heart that touched many lives. His strength and wisdom were a steadying presence, while his sense of humor brought light to countless moments. These qualities have left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and community.

Jerry is survived by his loving parents, Buddy and Joan Webster; his brother, Jimmy Oglesby, and his wife Lisa; his sister, Tammy New; his son, Zach Harthcock, and Zach’s wife Princess; and (3) three cherished grandchildren as well as  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He leaves behind a family who will carry forward his memory with love and respect.

The visitation to honor Jerry’s life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, located at 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Family, friends, and all who appreciated Jerry’s kindness and character are invited to attend and pay their respects.

Jerry Wayne Oglesby’s legacy is one of hard work, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. His spirit endures in the hearts of his family and friends, who cherish the time they shared with him.
