Jilda Ann Giannopulos

Jilda Ann Giannopulos, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Hernando, MS, on August 22, 2026. Born in North Carolina on September 10, 1952, Jilda lived a life marked by devotion to her family, hard work, and an enduring love for the simple joys of life.

Jilda was widely admired for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her craft, working as a self-employed owner-operator of many different business throughout her career. Her commitment to her business was matched only by her love for her family, whom she cherished above all else. She was a constant presence in the lives of her grandchildren, always offering support, wisdom, and affection, and played a deeply important role in shaping their lives and memories.

Among her many passions, Jilda had a particular fondness for lighthouses and the ocean, drawn to the tranquility and beauty they represented. She also found great joy in baking, often sharing her delicious creations with family and friends, making every gathering warmer and every occasion more special with her thoughtful touch.

Jilda's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Murray and her husband Michael, and her son, David Thompson. Her grandchildren, Cody, Dakota, Cole, Coral-li, Bella, Sharrie and Crystal, remember her with gratitude and love. Her great-grandchildren, Weston, Hagen, Kenan, Stellah, Bowen, Nova, and Delta, carry forward her spirit of kindness and her unwavering support. She leaves behind a family bound not only by blood but also by the loving memories and strong bonds she so carefully nurtured.

She is preceded in death by her parents: David and Evelyn Baker, son Blitzen Giannopulos, her brothers Michael Baker and Paul Baker, her sister Jean Baker and her granddaughter, Crystal Murray. Their memories are treasured, and Jilda now joins them in rest and peace.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date to honor the remarkable woman Jilda was and the profound impact she had on all who knew and loved her.

Jilda Ann Giannopulos will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her kindness, resilience, and generosity have left an indelible mark on those she leaves behind.
