Joby Edward Foshee, III “Eddie,” age 67, passed away on February 22, 2026, peacefully at his home.
Eddie was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and was raised in Cleveland, Mississippi, where he learned the value of hard work at an early age, mowing grass and taking on any job he could. Those early lessons stayed with him throughout his life. He spent some of his most memorable childhood and high school years playing baseball in the Cleveland area, a sport he truly loved.
A proud graduate of Cleveland High School, Class of 1976, Eddie went on to attend Delta State University. Because of his early love for baseball, he spent several years working as Park Commissioner in Cleveland, where he helped keep Bear Pen Park up and running, a feat he took great pride in.
He later built a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant, known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to providing for his family.
After settling in Hernando, Eddie and his family became members of Grays Creek Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.
Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, and in his later years became an avid BBQ competition judge, combining his appreciation for good food with time spent in the community he enjoyed.
Above all, Eddie was a family man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joby Edward Foshee, Jr., and brother-in-law, William Brent Harbin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry, of 29 years; his children, Anne Claire (Josh) Dugas, Jef (Eighmey) Foshee, and Morgan (Chandler) Tackett; his mother, Kay Foshee; his siblings, Sheri (Joe) Iupe and Ronnie (Conchetta) Foshee; sister-in-law, Martha Harbin; his cherished grandchildren, Tyson Dugas, Lizzie Foshee, Fisher Dugas, Joby Foshee, Collin Tackett, and Eli Tackett; and a host of family and friends.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong work ethic, and the love he had for his family and the life he built.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Gray's Creek Baptist Church located at 5020 Getwell Rd. S in Hernando with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM and the service at 12:00 PM.
