Johnny William Payne, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home with family on December 16, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on October 11, 1964, in Memphis, TN, where he spent his early years before graduating from Southaven High School in the Class of 1983.

Throughout his career, Johnny was a dedicated paint filler for Ferrell-Calhoun Paint in Memphis, TN. His work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew him, contributing to his enduring legacy within the community.

Johnny had a vibrant spirit and a multitude of interests that brought joy to those around him. He was an avid fisherman, eagerly seeking the thrill of the catch. His love for gambling was well-known, as was his unparalleled enthusiasm for football. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Johnny passionately followed his team, celebrating their victories alongside family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Payne, and his two sons, Johnny Payne Jr. of Memphis, TN, and Jimmy Payne of Southaven, MS. Johnny is also survived by his brother, Danny Payne, and his wife Suzanne of Southaven, MS. He shared a unique bond with Gary Blankenship, his caregiver and close friend, who provided unwavering support throughout the years.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mamie Payne.

His family will be honoring his memory with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at their home at a later date, where stories will be shared, and his legacy will be celebrated. Johnny William Payne will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he shared and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
