Justin Bruce McAlaster

Justin Bruce McAlaster, known affectionately to many as Jess, passed away on August 11, 2026, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. Born on July 2, 1946, in Red Banks, California.

Justin served his country honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marines, embodying the values of integrity, courage, and sacrifice. After his time in the Marines, he continued to demonstrate these values in civilian life, working as a manager for Mrs. Fields Cookie Company. In his career, Justin was known for his leadership and reliable presence, leaving lasting impressions on colleagues and friends alike.

He is survived by his wife, Terri Dew, and his children: sons Justin McAlaster (Tammy), David Mcalaster (Amanda), and Jason McAlaster (Katie), his daughter, Kaleigh McAlaster Dew, as well as (11) grandchildren and (7) great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward Justin’s legacy of integrity, perseverance, and kindness. He was preceded in death by his father, James McAlaster, his mother, Layander June McAlaster, and his son, Charles McAlaster, with whom he now reunites in rest.

Though Justin’s earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit and values endure in those whose lives he touched. The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date, where his memory will be honored and cherished.

Justin will be remembered with love, pride, and respect by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
