Lois Sowell Walker, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, at The Goldton in Southaven, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 5, 1931, in Coldwater, Mississippi, Lois lived a life marked by deep connection to her community, enduring faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Lois was the daughter of Fred and Willie Sowell, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in passing by her beloved husband, George T. Walker, with whom she built a life filled with love and shared memories.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Alice Greer and Glenda Hall (David), and her son, Joe Walker (Cheryl),(6) Grand Children, (3) Great Grand Children, and (5) Great Great Grand Children. Lois deeply treasured the time spent with her entire family, especially her grandchildren, for whom she always had an encouraging word, a listening ear, and an open heart.

She was a devoted member of Redemption Church in Hernando, Mississippi, where her faith served as a source of strength and guidance throughout her life. Lois found joy in simple pleasures—she loved outings to Catfish Country, where good food and conversation were always on the menu, and followed college sports with enthusiasm, especially football and basketball, sharing the excitement of the game with friends and loved ones.

For the past four years, Lois made her home at The Goldton, where she was cared for with great dedication and compassion. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Goldton for the excellent care and service provided to Lois during her time there.
