Nora Theresa Gorman Woods

Nora Theresa Gorman Woods passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on April 8, 1961 in Memphis, Tennessee, Nora will be remembered with love for the care she gave to others, the joy she found in the things she loved, and the deep devotion she had for her family.

Nora was a retired certified nursing assistant, a role that reflected a life of compassion and service. She was someone who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved shopping, doing her make-up, and getting her nails done, and she was also a devoted Elvis fan as well as an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Above all, Nora enjoyed being with her family, and those moments spent together will remain among the most treasured memories of her life.

She is survived by her daughters, April Farrow and her husband Timothy and Catherine Sherlock Mayson and her husband Jamie Mayson, and by her son, Jim Thomas Sherlock and his wife Thomasanna. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Chevy Belle Farrow, Addilee Theresa Farrow, Allure Carroll, Jameson Carroll, and Jimmy Manning Sherlock. Each of them was a cherished part of her life, and her love for her family will continue to be felt in the memories they hold close.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Catherine Gorman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home.

Nora Theresa Woods will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit, and the love she shared with her family. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved her.
