Odie B. Turner & Peggy Lou Turner

Odie B. Turner Jr. and Peggy Lou Turner went home to be with their Lord on August 28, 2026, following an unexpected accident.  The couple, who wed on July 11, 1964, share 63 years together. 

Odie was born on May 5, 1941, in Kenton, Tennessee and was preceded in death by his father, Odie B. Turner Sr., and his mother, Johnnie Turner. Peggy was born on June 20, 1945, in Whiteville, Tennessee and was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Pepper, and h er mother, Martha Anderson. Both were preceded in death by beloved brothers and sisters.

Odie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a proud veteran. Odie and Peggy were members of The Outpouring Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi.  Throughout his life, Odie as devoted to ministry and participated in many ministries, sharing his faith with others.

Together, Odie and Peggy shared a love of camping. They especially loved playing bluegrass music and singing.  Peggy could often be found hosting family and friends, cooking meals, and making sure everyone felt welcomed.  

Odie and Peggy leave behind a loving family.  They are survived by their two children, Johnny Lee Turner (Tammie) and Penne Rena Killgore (David); their two grandchildren, Chelsea Elise Stigler (Jonathan) and Candice Denise Turner; and their four great-grandchildren, Wyatt James Wade, Declan Wes Stigler, Amora Lonni Jean Stigler, and Bryana Abree Brewer, along with four bonus great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service celebrating the lives of Odie B. Turner Jr. and Peggy Lou Turner will be held at The Outpouring Church, located at 6400 Blocker Street, Olive Branch, MS 38654, on September 19.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until a Celebration of Life Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to The Outpouring Church in memory of Odie and Peggy.
