Peggy Joyce Elmore

Peggy Joyce Elmore, 74. born on July 16, 1951, in Marks, Mississippi, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the Holly Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Holly Springs, Mississippi. 

Peggy dedicated 34 years of her life to shaping the minds of young children as a Daycare Teacher at the First United Methodist Church in Southaven, Mississippi. Her passion for nurturing and educating the next generation was evident in all her interactions, and she took great pride in the profound impact she had on her students and their families.

A beloved figure among her family and friends, Peggy was known for her warmth and generosity. She had an immense love for her grandbabies and was always welcoming to family and friends, providing care and support whenever they needed it. Her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the countless memories she created.

Peggy leaves behind her husband, Bob Elmore, and her loving daughters, Tonya Elmore of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Mandi Knapp and her husband Jason of Red Banks, Mississippi. She also cherished her brother, Tommy Yarbrough, and his wife Paula. Peggy's family includes her adored grandchildren: Braxton Manning and his wife Hannah, Erin Holiday, Jake Eastin and his wife Courtney, Victoria Lane and her husband Ryan, and Levi Davis. Her family continues to grow with her great-grandchildren: Zoey, Axel, Rayleigh, Abel, Drake, Dallas, and Drayden.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Merle Yarbrough, and her siblings: Gail Tullos, Debby Johnson, Ken Yarbrough, and Terry Yarbrough. She also mourns the loss of her great-granddaughter, Oakleigh Holliday.

In honoring her legacy, visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM, both at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home located at 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632.

Peggy Joyce Elmore will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
