Raymond Everette LaBrie Jr. "Ray", a man of quiet strength and immense heart, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the age of 50 years old.
Ray spent much of his life on the open road. As a professional truck driver, he possessed a tireless work ethic and a navigator's spirit. His most meaningful journey, however, began when he met his wife, Barbara. In the 30 years they spent together, he loved her with a quiet but unmistakable devotion. He admired her deeply, spoke of her often, and found true happiness in the life they built together.
When he wasn't behind the wheel, Ray could be found spending time with friends and family or casting a line at Arkabutla Lake. An avid fisherman, he knew that the best days were spent with a line in the water, waiting for a bite and enjoying the stillness of nature.
Above all, Ray was a pillar of kindness for his family. Though he was married into the title of stepfather, he chose to love his family with kindness and devotion. He cared for his children and grandchildren as his very own, offering a kind of unconditional support that defined his character. He was a man who showed up whenever he could, proving that family is built on presence, care, and the not so quiet moments spent together.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Labrie, his children Bridgette Minton and her husband Roger of Coldwater, MS and Rodney Bounds and his wife Rhonda of Hickory Flat, MS, grandchildren Hollie Logan (Tony), Paul Booth (Toni), Candace Neal (Travis), Brittany Gauman (Russell), Dalton Minton ( Hollie), and 5 great-grandchildren who will forever miss his presence. He was proceeded in death by his father Raymond LaBrie Sr., his brother Joseph LaBrie and his son Gordan Booth.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home located at 2470 Highway 51 South Hernando, MS. Interment will follow at Goodrum Memorial Cemetery in Eudora.
In his memory, the family asks that you take a moment to cast a line or just sit outside and enjoy the outdoors in his honor.
