Robert Alvin "Bob" Bailey

Robert Alvin “Bob” Bailey, born May 21, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on August 3, 2026. Known affectionately to many as “Bob,” he was a devoted family member, and steadfast friend to all who knew him.

Bob spent his career as a dedicated truck driver for Yellow Freight Corporation, where he earned the nickname “Gopher.” Through years of commitment and hard work, he built a reputation for reliability and kindness among his colleagues. His professional life reflected not only his tireless work ethic but also his genuine care for those with whom he shared the road.

Bob is survived by his wife, Donna Bailey. He is also survived by his brother Scott Bailey, and his sisters Sandra Montesi and Nancy Turner (Butch), who will carry fond memories of their brother’s laughter and unwavering support. His legacy continues through his nieces and nephews, who always felt his encouragement and warmth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Letha Bailey, whose values and lessons helped shape the man Bob became.

The family will have a celebration of life memorial service at a later date, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor and remember Bob’s life, his humor, and his enduring generosity. In lieu of flowers consider donations to the Tate County Animal Shelter.

Robert Alvin Bailey’s kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to his family will be sadly missed, but his memory will be treasured always by those he touched.
