Ronnie Gale Martin Sr. passed away on July 15, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on December 28, 1953, in Ripley, Tennessee, Ronnie’s journey through life was marked by a deep love for family, a strong work ethic, and an enduring passion for the western way of life.
Ronnie was the devoted son of the late Buford B. Martin and Dorothy L. Heath. He grew up surrounded by the values and traditions of his Tennessee roots, which shaped the man he would become. Ronnie’s commitment to hard work led him to a fulfilling and respected career as a cattle rancher. His time spent working as a rancher in Montana became a cherished chapter in his life, and the friendships he established there earned him the affectionate nickname “Montana” among some family and friends—a testament to his adventurous spirit and the imprint he left on those around him.
A lover of all things western, Ronnie found joy and contentment in the rugged beauty and quiet strength of ranch life. Beyond his career, he was known for his appreciation of the western lifestyle, embodying the values of resilience, independence, and integrity. These qualities touched not only his professional endeavors but also every aspect of his personal relationships.
Ronnie’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving son, Ronnie G. Martin Jr.; his brother, Larry Martin; and his sister, Kathy Cox. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Britley, Casey, Rebecca, and Zayden, as well as his great-grandchildren Heidi, Daisee, and Rudy, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness and were a constant source of inspiration.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buford B. Martin; his mother, Dorothy L. Heath; and his brother, Orris Martin. Though they have gone before him, their memory and the bonds they shared remain an enduring part of Ronnie’s story.
