Sarah Frances Doss Thomas

Sarah Frances Doss Thomas, 81 of Southaven, Mississippi passed away on September 25, 2025 surrounded by family at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi.

She was born on December 23, 1943 in Sardis, Mississippi and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Mississippi. She was a devoted teacher at Southaven High School in Southaven, Mississippi for over 25 years, a member of the Desoto County School Board and member of Baker’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Hernando.

Visitation will be from 12 pm until a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 2 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home - 2470 Highway 51 South, Hernando, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Bakers Chapel Cemetery in Hernando.

She is survived by her (2) sons; Steve Doss and his wife, Tracey of Hernando, Mississippi and Michael Doss and his wife, Kim of Southaven, Mississippi, (5) grandchildren; Cassidy Doss-Whittington and her husband, Lincoln, Sydney Doss, Katie Box, Kelsi Stallings and Allen Stallings as well as numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and students that all loved and will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Thomas, her husband and father of her children, James A. Doss, her parents William Arnold Sr. and Hazel Arnold, (1) sister, Brenda McCown and (2) brothers; William “Bill” Arnold Jr. and Clifton Arnold.
