Steven Keith Owens, known to many as Keith, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was born on January 21, 1974, in Jackson, Mississippi.

Keith built a life marked by service, dedication, and determination. He graduated from Wingfield High School in Jackson, Mississippi, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. He later earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Arkansas State University, continuing a path of learning that supported a meaningful and accomplished career in healthcare.

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Keith served patients with skill and professionalism at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi, Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee, and most recently at Vascular Interventional Physicians (VIP). His work reflected both his knowledge and his commitment to caring for others.

Keith also served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Army. Among the accomplishments of which he was especially proud was earning the Army Achievement Medal, a recognition of his dedication and service.

Beyond his professional and military life, Keith was a very competitive person who brought energy and intensity to the things he loved. He enjoyed cooking meals, found excitement in motorcycle racing, and was a talented musician on the drums. These interests reflected his vibrant spirit and the enthusiasm he brought to life.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Owens; his son, Tyler Owens; his daughters, Bailee Wilbanks and Carmen Wilbanks; his parents, Steve and Glenda Owens and his sisters; Sherry Taylor and her husband, Matt and Stephanie Murphey and her husband, Josh. He is also survived by his nieces, Sarah Aravanis and her husband, Josh and Sadie Murphey. His nephews, Clay Brown and his wife, Callie and Jake Murphey. He will also be remembered with affection by Rambo, Vader, Leia, and Django, his beloved Dobermann Pinschers, who were part of the circle of companionship and loyalty that surrounded him.

Keith was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jimmy Barnett and Mary Jane Barnett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1455 McIngvale Rd, Hernando, Mississippi 38632, followed by the funeral service with Military Honors at 4:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place on September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, Tennessee 38125.

Keith will be remembered for his service, his strong and competitive nature, his devotion to his profession, and the many roles he filled in the lives of those who loved him. His memory will remain a lasting source of love and remembrance for his family and friends.
