Susan Ann Torrans

Susan Ann Torrans, of Tunica, Mississippi, passed away on October 14, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. She was born on September 10, 1974, in Memphis and graduated from Southaven High School in 1993.

Susan’s life was centered on love, family, and caring for those around her. As a devoted mother and homemaker, she found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with her family and held a special place in her heart for her granddaughters, Ellie “Lovey” Huckaby and Charley Huckaby.

Susan loved animals and pets and enjoyed crocheting and making blankets, creating things that brought warmth and comfort to others. She had a special light about her, and her smile, laughter, and warm spirit could brighten any room. Her remarkable strength and resilience through life’s challenges inspired her family and served as a lasting example of perseverance, devotion, and unconditional love.

Susan is survived by her spouse, Josh Taylor; her daughters, Lindsy Torrans (Patrick Huckaby) and Kailey Taylor; her brothers, Kenny Free (Rachel Free) and Jacob Free; her stepmother, MaryBeth Free; and her beloved granddaughters, Ellie and Charley Huckaby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Pat Free.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, 2470 Highway 51 South, Hernando, Mississippi, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m.

Susan will be remembered for her strength, her loving heart, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless memories of her laughter, kindness, and enduring love.
