Timothy Alan Thomas, beloved son, nephew, and uncle, passed away on July 17, 2026. Born on August 1, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, Timothy’s life was marked by dedication in work, a strong faith, and deep family bonds.
Timothy’s early years were spent in Hernando, Mississippi, where his natural curiosity and diligence became apparent. He distinguished himself as a student, graduating from Hernando High School with honors. Building on his academic success, Timothy attended Northwest Community College and later earned his degree in Agriculture Economics from Mississippi State University, a testament to his perseverance and commitment to personal growth.
After completing his education, Timothy briefly worked at Merrill Lynch in Memphis. He then joined his father at Hugh Thomas Insurance Agency, where he helped families by selling life insurance. Timothy's ability to connect with others and his unwavering integrity made him a trusted advisor in the community. Later, he embraced new challenges, moving into the automotive world with the Cadillac Division of General Motors at Bud Davis Cadillac. There, he became known for his keen sales acumen and developed the memorable motto, “Let the sizzle sell the steaks,” which reflected both his wit and salesmanship.
Timothy eventually embarked on a fresh professional path, bringing his talents to the DeSoto County Tax Assessor's Office as a Real Estate Appraiser. In every role, he dedicated himself fully and left a positive imprint on colleagues and friends alike.
Faith was a foundation in Timothy's life. At just 12 years old, he accepted Christ at the Hernando Baptist Church, an important milestone that set the tone for a life guided by compassion and kindness.
Those who knew Timothy will remember his warmth, dedication, and gentle spirit. He is survived by his devoted mother, Donna Thomas Riales; his nephews, Jon Thomas Wilson and Jacob Tate Wilson; his loving aunt, Debby Dunnaway; and his uncle, Lenard Tate Fuller. They mourn his loss while cherishing the memories and values he instilled within the family. Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Thomas; his sister, Terri Lynn Thomas; grandparents U.L. Fuller and Margie Fuller; and grandparents Haslel Thomas and Dovie Thomas.
To honor Timothy’s memory and share in remembrance, a visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brantley Phillips Funeral Home, located at 2470 Hwy 51 S, Hernando, MS 38632. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at the same location.
