Woodrow Nelson Telles Jr. passed away on August 13, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on March 7, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, Woodrow lived a life marked by dedication, service, and craftsmanship.

Woodrow’s early years in Kansas City shaped the man he would become: resourceful, hardworking, and steadfastly committed to his family and community. Guided by the examples set by his late parents, Woodrow Telles Sr. and Juanita Pearl Telles, he carried forward a legacy of resilience and caring.

A proud veteran, Woodrow served his country in the United States Marines. His devotion to duty and integrity were evident throughout his life, and his service stands as a testament to his character and patriotism.

After his time in the Marines, Woodrow turned his talents to civilian life. He worked as a baker for Tasty Bakery in Kansas City, where his skill and dedication delighted many. Later, he used his hands for building and repair, excelling in construction and home projects. Woodrow was known as a true handyman who could fix most anything, always willing to lend his expertise wherever it was needed.

Outside of work, Woodrow embraced life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for motorcycles, finding joy and freedom on the open road.

Woodrow’s greatest pride always lay with his family. He is survived by his son Tim Telles, his brother Steve Telles (Roberta) and his sisters, Joyce King Lawrence, Tina Lambie and Janice Graham. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Melissa, Kathy, Bryan, Adam, Autumn, Madison, and Gage, and his great-grandchildren Levi, Lucian, Reese, and Elliott. Their lives are shaped and enriched by the love and wisdom he shared.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Woodrow Telles Sr., his mother Juanita Pearl Telles, his son Jayson Telles and sisters Cheryl Webber and Michelle Sperfa. Their memories now join his as guiding lights for those who mourn his passing.
